Anord's Scope of Work :
In 2005 Quinn Radiators commissioned a project for the completion of the World’s largest radiator manufacturing facility in Newport, Wales. The project CAPEX was in in excess of €200 million. Anord were selected from a tender list of 8 European and U.K companies. Anord successfully completed the build of 21 number ‘2.0/2.8 MVA, 4000A Single ended Unit Sub – stations with on time delivery. 18 of these were delivered to site 14 weeks from date of order to enable production start date.
Key features of Project:
Due to the programme delivery timetables for the project 18 of the package unit sub stations were required to be on site 14 weeks from order day. Anord undertook this challenge to meet tight deadlines.
The design strength of the project lay in the fact that due to the locations of the sub – stations Anord designed the switchboards with double stacked ACB sections with front and rear cable access in order to accommodate the large feeder cables whilst minimising the sub station foot print.
Due to time frame we committed ourselves to a programme which was unique to any other in Europe at the time. We were able to project manage the programme so that we delivered the optimum solution, on time which met the clients needs.
Notable Partnerships:
With a manufacturing capacity of 4 ½ thousand square feet Anord was able to achieve this goal. Project management had a lot of interaction with the clients.
We developed cross functional teams to ensure the delivery was on time, and to the highest standards which delivered above and beyond customer expectations.
